FINDING FANON PART 2

Finding Fanon Part 2 was commissioned for Brighton Digital Festival from a proposal by artists Larry Achiampong and David Blandy. At the time it was the second part of a proposed trilogy which has since been completed. An example of the Machinima genre of making a film using an in-game video editor in this instance Grand Theft Auto V.

Inspired by humanist, Frantz Fanon whose work dealt with the legacies of colonialism, the artists examine their own family’s histories and their relationships to colonial histories, making relationships in virtual spaces and the implications of posthumanism.
